During that super football game where some of us think something mysterious happened, Netflix show Stranger Things aired a commercial with the previously talked about (GBI Blog Post, February 3, 2017) Ghostbusters teaser.
Now Entertainment Weekly has an [Warning: Possible Spoilers] article about Stranger Things season 2 plot. With a clue for ghostheads and Stranger Things fans about why Mike, (Finn Wolfhard) Dustin, (Gaten Matarazzo) and Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) are dressed in fairly accurate Ghostbusters costumes for the time.
If you haven’t seen their Super Bowl commercial yet, its embedded below. If you’re not caught up with season 1, it may contain possible spoilers.
Netflix show Stranger Things, with season 1 taking place in 1983 in part is also a tribute to “real” ’80s entertainment nostalgia. Ghosheads wondered if Stranger Things could take a break long enough from their seriousness to mention Ghostbusters when they get to 1984. Ghostheads and uh Stranger Things fans would just have to wait until New Years.
On that important Ghostbusters like day Stranger Things Twitter account tweeted:
Digital Matte Painter Carl Edlund, (Harry Potter franchise, Gravity, Guardians Of The Galaxy, Gods Of Egypt and so much more) created matte paintings for Ghostbusters: Answer The Call.
Mr. Edlund shared a video breaking down some of the matte paintings from Ghostbusters: Answer The Call. Its something we like to see and can appreciate.
Ghost Corps via their Facebook page added the above photo showing both upcoming Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters (2016) figures, vehicles, and play sets. We believe most, if not all the figures, etc are from Mattel. The Ghostbusters (2016) figures were shown at this year’s New York Toy Fair.
We’ve updated our display cases with new merchandise! Check out Ivan on the official GhostbustersSnapchat right now for a more in depth look! #Ghostbusters
What’s really new is the bottom of the display. It appears Mattel is re-releasing their former Matty Collector Ghostbusters figures in all new “classic” packaging. Except for a certain marshmallow ghost. Which basically hasn’t been packaged that way since Kenner produced and sold a The Real Ghostbusters version 30 years ago.
According to Ghost Corps the classic figures come with parts to build a “no ghost” logo.

Ghost Corps (Facebook) announced a partnership with Penguin Random House, a publisher behind the decades old golden books.
Excited to announce that we have officially partnered with Penguin Random House and will be releasing #Ghostbusters, both classic and new movie, in the popular “Little Golden Book” children’s format and combining the two into a “Big Golden Book” as well! More details to come!
This week, the first (Ghostbusters International Blog Post, March 3, 2016) Ghostbusters (2016) international (as in world, not the site) trailer was unveiled by Sony’s international branches and partners. At first sorta, as the Ukraine/Russia version wasn’t suppose to be out on the interwebs. It was taken down and if it hasn’t been released yet, it will be in due time. That didn’t stop ghostheads and other sites from taking screen caps. Why would we need more screen caps? This first international trailer featured additional footage. If you didn’t get a chance to view it and in case its also in other international trailers we won’t quite spoil it. Think Marvel’s Thor and concert venues.
While one of the largest continents on Earth re-await a Ghostbusters 2016 trailer in their languages, Sony Pictures Entertainment did officially release trailers for the UK and Australia. Continue reading
Tomorrow, March 3, 2016 the long awaited Ghostbusters (2016) trailer (Ghostbusters International Blog Post, February 14, 2016) will make its debut. Until yesterday ghostheads and paid corporate types didn’t know what Sony Pictures Entertainment had up their Ghost Corps (Facebook) sleeves.
On this promo page for Ellen Degeneres Show we can see that Ghostbusters (2016) first trailer will make its world premiere. With at least special guest Kristen Wiig. We would also think Paul Feig. We don’t know for sure as sometimes interns aren’t where they’re suppose to be.
If you aren’t familiar with the channel and time for Ellen Degeneres Show, their site has additional information.
Ghostheads have been waiting for a trailer for Ghostbusters (2016). On the eve of the world not ending Ghost Corps shared the first teaser trailer and announced on March 3, 2016 we’ll see the trailer.
Thirty years after the original film took the world by storm, Ghostbusters is back and fully rebooted for a new generation. Director Paul Feig combines all the paranormal fighting elements that made the original franchise so beloved with a cast of new characters, played by the funniest actors working today. Get ready to watch them save the world this summer!
The tease really is a tease. If you didn’t know it was Ghostbusters related and their was no Ghostbusters wording, including the logo, we would think this was some kind of serious police action movie.
