Ghostbusters: ATC Concept Art

gbsatcopentrapconceptart

Senior Illustrator Shae Shatz worked on Ghostbusters: Answer The Call concept art. Recently Shae Shatz shared twenty Ghostbusters: ATC illustrations at the Ghostbusters section of her site.

From Shae Shatz:

GHOSTBUSTERS WAS AN AMAZING OPPORTUNITY TO WORK WITH A GREAT GROUP OF TALENT. UPON WORKING WITH PRODUCTION DESIGNER JEFFERSON SAGE, WE QUICKLY FOCUSED ON DEVELOPING A VISUAL LANGUAGE FOR THE GHOSTBUSTERS EQUIPMENT. STARTING WITH THE RAT TRAP, WE WERE SEARCHING FOR SOLUTIONS THAT WOULD SUPPORT GHOSTBUSTERS MODEST ROOTS THROUGH OBJECTS THAT WERE BUILT OUT OF REPURPOSED AND OFTEN HEAVY-DUTY ELECTRONICS. WITH THESE PILLARS IN MIND FELLOW ILLUSTRATOR ANNIS NAEEM AND I WERE COLLABORATING CLOSELY TO CREATE CONSISTENCY BETWEEN THE OBJECTS HE WAS DESIGNING AND THE ONES I WAS MAKING.

With respect to Shae Shatz we won’t share any additional concept images at our site. We highly encourage ghostheads to spend some time at Shae Shatz Creative.

Empire UK Ghostbusters Magazine Articles Added To Magazine Rack

Written By: Richard Roy

As we’re (obviously) not in the United Kingdom and I only wanted to share the Ghostbusters articles anyway I didn’t want to, (with currency rates) buy a digital version of Empire from June 2016. I did the next best thing for ghostheads, scan my copy.

I wasn’t planning on doing that today, I guess I’ve been wanting to. I made high-res scans of the covers, editor’s letter, features, Ghostbusters: Answer The Call article, and Ghostbusters article with Dan Ackroyd. I saved the articles as two PDF files.

Why two? I know not every ghosthead is a fan of Ghostbusters: Answer The Call. (Ecto-Containment) If one really only wants to read the “classic” article with Dan Aykroyd, I thought of “you.”

Both the complete Empire magazine and just the Ghostbusters article, titled The Ghost Writer have been added to the Ghostbusters Firehouse Magazine Rack.

Playing Games: Ghostbusters II The Adventure PDF

gb2theadventure

In September of 2014, we added West End Games Ghostbusters adventure book, Hot Rods Of The Gods. (GBI Blog Post, September 14, 2014)

Since then we’ve had ghostheads who want to help us add additional adventure/supplemental books. We really appreciate the offer and are willing to accept as long as the scans come from you and weren’t or aren’t part of another site.

Before Christmas ghosthead Jon Armke got in touch with us to offer such supplemental materials we don’t already have on-line. Today, Jon sent a PDF file of Ghostbusters II: The Adventure.

The 14.5 MB file can be downloaded in our Media section. Or on Ghostbusters™ The Role Playing Game page. Continue reading

Ghostbusters Japanese Movie Program Merchandise

gbsjapaneseprogramcover

Yesterday I wrote about and shared our Ghostbusters Japanese Movie Program. If you were wondering I don’t have a Ghostbusters II Japanese program to archive and share. Today I wanted to discuss (well talk about) that internationally Ghostbusters merchandise and collecting was ahead of its time (or got the ball rolling…wait, was their a Ghostbusters ball?) compared to GHOSTBUSTERS™ merchandise in the North American markets. ゴーストバスターズ映画プログラム Ghostbusters Japanese Movie Program

gbsjapaneseprogramcoverGhostbusters Incorporated’s unofficial Japanese Ghostbusters month continues with a ゴーストバスターズ映画プログラム. Or Ghostbusters Japanese Movie Program.

By the way, if you speak and/or read Japanese and know Google Translate got it wrong, its ok to laugh. We’re just trying something here for Ghostbusters and some level of effectiveness.

I don’t personally know about these days, during the ’80s if you saw GHOSTBUSTERS™ or GHOSTBUSTERS II™ in a Japanese movie theater you’d receive a movie program. Which maybe was or wasn’t meant to be collectible.

The glossy pages Ghostbusters program is more like a magazine. With articles for just about every aspect of Ghostbusters. With great photos overall to accompany the information.

Some of the articles are about what Ghostbusters is, (I think) its story, pages on the cast, and Ghostbusters SFX. Continue reading

Ghostbusters Japanese Hobbies

hobbyjapangodgbs

Last week while checking eBay for Ghostbusters merchandise I came across Hobby Japan #1 from 1985. I think most ghostheads know after GHOSTBUSTERS,™ prior to The Real Ghostbusters their weren’t many Ghostbusters collectibles, at least in the United States. We (well we as a fan base, not personally because I was 7) had two Japanese Ghostbusters monsters models to choose (no pun intended) from. Either a Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man or a Terror Dog. Made to put together from Japanese company Tsukuda Hobby Japan.

What you probably didn’t know is early Ghostbusters models also included Gozer and get this all four Ghostbusters! Continue reading

Ghostbusters Vs Mythbusters Time Lapse Painting

Back in November, (GB Inc. Blog Post) Epic Rap Battles (videos contain mature language) created an epic rap battle to determine who are the better ‘busters. Who actually won the battle may have surprised you. We’ll leave that for “you to decide.” 🙂

When it was time to bring “the B team back from the dead” (whatever that could possibly mean) The ‘Mythbusters’ needed their Kari Byron. That’s where artist Mary Doodles comes in. Continue reading
